Valentine Dance Team makes school history with state championship win

VALENTINE, Neb. - The Valentine Dance Team etched its name into school history on Friday, winning first place in C2 Jazz at the state dance competition for the first time ever. The team also claimed the runner-up spot in Pom, competing against 18 other teams.

“The tiny but mighty dance team of seven ladies are involved in basketball, wrestling, volleyball, speech, golf, and studio dance,” said Coach Amy Arganbright. “They’re a diverse, dedicated group who commit their early mornings to representing the Badgers in dance.”
Arganbright first led Valentine to the state competition in 2020 before taking a brief COVID hiatus. The team returned in 2023 and has competed each year since. Beyond their achievements on the dance floor, Arganbright is just as proud of her athletes' success in the classroom.
“The team also received an award for academic excellence for a team GPA 3.9,” said Arganbright.

Next up, Arganbright’s studio dance team will head to Rapid City next weekend for its first competition of the season.
