Nebraska Grazing Lands Coalition names Jack Arterburn Western Nebraska Program Coordinator

CHADRON, Neb. — The Nebraska Grazing Lands Coalition (NGLC) named Jack Arterburn its new Western Nebraska Program Coordinator, where he will focus on grazing education and technical assistance for producers in the region.
Arterburn, a 2009 graduate from Sidney, Neb., has extensive experience in range livestock management. He'll work to expand collaborations between The Nature Conservancy, local stakeholders and agencies to enhance awareness and planning for sustainable grazing practices and drought resilience.
His role includes coordinating educational opportunities, offering technical assistance for producers transitioning to regenerative grazing practices and connecting them with funding opportunities that recognize the ecosystem benefits of responsible land management. Additionally, he'll facilitate peer-to-peer networking, encouraging producers to share ideas and implement innovative solutions.
Arterburn holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in range livestock management from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and brings eight years of experience as a Nebraska Extension Beef Systems Educator serving northern Panhandle producers. His firsthand ranching experience further enhances his ability to support producers in the field.
Arterburn and his wife reside outside of Chadron with their five children. Producers can contact him for technical assistance and program updates at [email protected] or by calling 308-249-3717.
