SIDNEY, Neb. – The National Weather Service has issued a Dense Fog Advisory for portions of the Nebraska Panhandle and northeast Colorado through 10 a.m. MDT Saturday.

The advisory includes Kimball and Cheyenne counties in Nebraska, as well as parts of Laramie County in Wyoming. In Colorado, areas affected include Fort Collins, Sterling, Akron, Julesburg, and Holyoke.

Visibility could drop to less than one-quarter mile, making driving conditions hazardous, especially near the Colorado border. Drivers are urged to slow down, use headlights, and maintain plenty of distance between vehicles.

In higher elevations above 7,000 feet, near-freezing temperatures could result in patches of freezing fog and slick conditions, particularly on bridges and overpasses.

The National Weather Service advises motorists to use low-beam headlights and exercise caution until the fog lifts later Saturday morning.
