Leeling lands podium spot in high jump at Desert Heat Classic in Arizona

TUCSON, Ariz. — Karsen Leeling continued her strong outdoor campaign by tying for third in the women’s high jump on Saturday at the Desert Heat Classic in Tucson, Ariz.
Leeling, a freshman from Sidney, cleared 5 feet, 10½ inches to share the bronze with fellow Husker Brooklyn Miller and teammate Riley Masten. The performance helped Nebraska dominate the high jump field, placing five athletes in the top eight.
Jenna Rogers led the Husker contingent in the event with a second-place finish at 1.84m (6-0½).
Nebraska secured five event titles Saturday at the meet, hosted by the University of Arizona, and several Huskers climbed the school’s all-time performance charts.
Leeling and the Huskers head to the Ward Haylett Invitational on May 9 in Manhattan, Kansas.
