Tanya Lewis named head track and field coach at Sidney High School

SIDNEY, Neb. — Sidney Public Schools announced Monday Tanya Lewis as the new head track and field coach for Sidney High School.
Lewis, a University of Nebraska-Lincoln graduate, has been a teacher at Sidney since 2012 and served as an assistant track coach for the past nine years. In addition to her track coaching duties, she has coached middle school girls’ basketball, cross country, speech and currently leads the school’s play production program.
She says she looks forward to continuing the tradition of excellence established by the previous head coaches she's been lucky to learn from, according to a press release from the school.
Lewis takes over for Matt McKay who led the Raider boys to a Class B state championship in 2022 and a third place finish for the Lady Raiders in Class B last season.
