Juvenile driver cited after early morning crash damages four vehicles in Scottsbluff
SCOTTSBLUFF — A juvenile driver was cited for careless driving following a four-vehicle crash in the 1400 block of Avenue I early Tuesday morning, according to the Scottsbluff Police Department.
Officers were dispatched around 5:30 a.m. and determined the driver of a 2019 black Toyota Highlander had been traveling northbound on Avenue I when they veered out of their lane and struck a parked vehicle. That vehicle was pushed into a second parked car, which then collided with a third. The final impacted vehicle struck a power pole, causing only minor damage to the pole.
Authorities said fatigue and inattention were contributing factors in the crash. Two of the four vehicles are suspected to be totaled.
The northbound lane of Avenue I was closed for roughly 48 minutes as debris was cleared from the scene. Scottsbluff Fire Department assisted police during the response.
No injuries were reported.
