Deputies seek vehicle after rollover crash in Morrill County
BRIDGEPORT, Neb. – A woman was hospitalized Saturday evening following a single-vehicle rollover crash on a rural road in Morrill County. Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying a red car that left the scene.
The Morrill County Sheriff’s Office said deputies, along with the Bridgeport Fire Department and Morrill County ALS, responded at 5:01 p.m. to County Road 104 west of County Road 91. A female driver was found inside the overturned vehicle, while a male witness was already at the scene.
An investigation determined the woman was driving eastbound on County Road 104 when she crested a hill and encountered a westbound vehicle traveling over the center line. She swerved to avoid the car, lost control, went into the north ditch, returned to the road, and again veered off before rolling at least three times, according to the witness.
The driver described the other vehicle as a small, red car. The witness could not identify the style of the vehicle due to its distance. The red car did not stop after the crash.
The woman was transported to Morrill County Community Hospital with undisclosed injuries.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the vehicle or its driver to contact the sheriff’s office non-emergency line at 308-262-0408.
