Doug Duda named voice of UNK football on News Channel Nebraska

KEARNEY, Neb. — A longtime Tri-Cities sports broadcaster has been named the new play-by-play voice for University of Nebraska at Kearney football on News Channel Nebraska.
Veteran broadcaster Doug Duda will lead NCN’s television coverage of all of the Lopers’ home football games during the 2025 season.
Duda, the 2023 Nebraska Sportscaster of the Year, brings decades of experience covering local high school and collegiate athletics. He’s well known across the Tri-Cities region as the host of the long-running “Doug & Daddy Show” on ESPN Tri-Cities.
“Doug’s years of experience and deep connection to the Kearney community make him the perfect choice for this role,” said Brandon Aksamit, NCN’s executive director of sports content. “His passion and knowledge will make watching the games even more exciting for Loper fans all across Nebraska.”
"I have enjoyed covering UNK sports for the last 28 years and building relationships with numerous coaches, Loper administration and alumni," Duda added. "I look forward to this opportunity to bring Loper football to their many loyal fans in the Tri-Cities and throughout the MIAA on NCN."
UNK alumnus and veteran sports announcer Randy Buschkoetter will join Duda in the booth as analyst, providing color commentary for all of NCN's broadcasts.
The Lopers’ first home game of the season is set for Saturday, Sept. 6, when the Lopers host in-state foe Chadron State. Live coverage on News Channel Nebraska is slated to begin at 6:45 p.m CT.
News Channel Nebraska will also televise the Lopers’ season opener at Wayne State on Thursday, Aug. 28. NCN’s coverage in Wayne will begin at 5:45 p.m. CT.
