Ol' Red, KWBE airing live coverage of 2025 MUDECAS volleyball tournament this week

This week will be a historic one: for the first time, longtime eminent Southeast Nebraska radio stations Ol' Red 99.5 and KWBE will be airing live coverage of the 2025 MUDECAS volleyball tournament starting this Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, live from two sites in Beatrice. 

The move to add week-long MUDECAS volleyball coverage to the annual broadcast calendar reflects both stations' commitment to providing unrivaled coverage of Southeast Nebraska sports to their combined regional and national dedicated and passionate listening audience. The two stations have long covered the annual MUDECAS basketball tournaments and postseason volleyball action, including three state championship matches just last fall, but this year marks the first time both stations will be covering every round of the MUDECAS volleyball tournament live on air and online. 

And this year's tournament begins on Monday night, with Sports Directors Jake Bartecki and Tim Hackett calling all the action, with featured analysis from longtime local volleyball coach and official Linda Johnson on select broadcasts. The stations will each air three quarterfinal matches on Monday evening; semifinal matches of both divisions on Tuesday night; and the championship matches from both divisions on Thursday night. 

Listeners in Southeast Nebraska can catch the broadcasts on Ol' Red on 99.5 FM or online anywhere, and the broadcasts on KWBE air on 94.7 FM/1450 AM or online anywhere. Thursday's championship matches will also be televised on News Channel Nebraska, and streamed live online and on social media for free. 

All A Division matches are played at the Truman Center on the campus of Southeast Community College; all B Division matches are played at Beatrice High School. All Thursday matches, including the championships, will be played at SCC.

Start times listed are the scheduled start times of the games themselves; they are subject to change based on how the tournament runs. The schedule will be updated throughout the tournament once matchups are finalized.
