Norris, Patterson pace golfers at Scenic Knolls; Scottsbluff, Kimball win team titles

MITCHELL – Alliance’s Ryley Norris and Mitchell’s Kaidyn Patterson led the field Thursday at Scenic Knolls Golf Course, as both the Western Trails Conference (WTC) and Mitchell Golf Tournaments were contested side by side.
Norris carded an 81 to edge Patterson by one stroke for top honors in the Mitchell Invite field. Patterson fired rounds of 82 to anchor Mitchell and win the WTC individual crown.
In the Mitchell Invite team standings, Scottsbluff pulled away with a 363 total to win the championship, while Sidney finished runner-up at 387.
Scottsbluff placed four golfers in the top 10 – Addie Peck (84), Elliot Selzer (91), MolliJane Smith (94) and MayLee Smith (94). Chadron’s Emmerson Landreth (87) and Sidney’s Aubre Campbell (91) and Lia Capriotti (98) also earned top-10 finishes.
In the WTC tournament, Kimball’s Aubrey Culek (98) and Bridgeport’s Emma Dohse (111) were second and third. Mallory Hottell, of Kimball, and Mitchell's Brynn Docekal round out the top five.
Kimball claimed the team title at the Mitchell Invite with a 481 total, outlasting runner-up Mitchell (494). Jayla Graves and Dakota Nunley also placed in the top ten for the Longhorns.
