Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs make new home in state of the art facility

LINDSAY, Neb.-
It's only a couple of days old and the building already feels like home.
The FCA Lindsay Fitness Center opened on the first of the month and the Humphrey-Lindsay Bulldogs hosted their first volleyball match Tuesday night.
Construction on the 1,200-seat gym started in 2022. The building has multiple roles beyond being the home for the Bulldogs, serving as a fitness center for the community.
Bulldogs Head coach Cami Oelsligle likes the upgrade to her new home.
“umm have you been at Humphrey at all," said Oesligle. "It's a very very small gym."
That gym only had one stand of bleachers for spectators, and the court wasn’t regulation size. Players Carly Korth and Hallie Reichmuth are now looking forward to playing in front of larger crowds.
“We’re really excited especially were expecting a really big crowed," said Korth. "And were not used to playing in a gym this big so.”
“I think it’s definitely bringing the team together," said Reichmuth. "Just the excitement and seeing everything come together because we’ve been watching it since the begging. I mean it started as a field, so it's really cool to see how its built up.”
Assistant head coach Jenni Korth thinks opening the facility to the community makes it even more special.
“ While it is kinda the home of the Bulldogs for Lindsay Academy this facility just is for everybody in the region," said Jenni. "And so that I think is what makes it so special.”
