Leyton rolls past South Platte 55-13 on Homecoming Friday
DALTON – Alec Watchorn scored four touchdowns to lead Leyton to a 55-13 Homecoming win over South Platte Friday afternoon in Dalton.
Watchorn rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns and caught two more scores on 66 receiving yards. Colt Van Anne added three touchdowns for the Warriors, including two rushing and one receiving.
Leyton finished with 352 yards of total offense. Watchorn led all players with 244 total yards, while Van Anne added 97. Austin Beutler threw for 66 yards and two touchdowns.
On defense, Isaac Rohde led Leyton with nine tackles, including four for loss. Christian Townsend recorded an interception returned for 51 yards, and the Warriors finished with seven tackles for loss and six quarterback hurries.
Mercedes Heidemann and Kaleb Miller were crowned Homecoming queen and king.
Leyton improves to 6-1 and travels to Shelton next Friday for their regular season finale. The Blue Knights fall to 2-5 and finish the regular season at Potter-Dix next Thursday.
