Norfolk Senior Center director terminated, police investigation ongoing
A Norfolk senior center is under pressure as their director has been terminated and an investigation is ongoing.

NORFOLK, Neb.— A Norfolk senior center is under pressure as their director has been terminated and an investigation is ongoing.
According to a board member at the Norfolk Senior Citizens Center, Executive Director Cheryl Gesell was terminated recently.
Capt. Michael Bauer said on Nov. 19 a Center board member reported suspicious activity on the senior center credit card to police, pointing at an employee as the suspect.
Police declined to name Gesell as the suspect. The Center told NCN that the reason she was terminated was because they lost confidence in her. They declined to comment on the investigation.
No charges have been filed and the investigation is still ongoing. The Norfolk Daily News first reported on the investigation.
