SIDNEY, Neb. — The Cheyenne County Fair & Rodeo, a summer tradition dating back to 1886, will return to Sidney July 18–25, 2026, with fair officials preparing to unveil the official lineup on Monday.

Fair organizers announced that the 2026 fair and concert lineup will be released at 10 a.m. The fair board said the weeklong event will again feature rodeo action, live entertainment, livestock shows and community activities that have defined the fair for generations.

On Monday, the Fair Board voted to remove the midway carnival and Rubber Check Race from the 2026 fair, citing financial sustainability and low attendance. Board members said resources from those events will be redirected to strengthen other areas of the fair. Officials also discussed earlier this week adding goat roping to the schedule.

Additional details about events and entertainment are expected following the Feb. 2 announcement.
