MCGREW - Two people were killed Wednesday afternoon in a head-on crash on Highway 92 near McGrew, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.

State Patrol spokesman Cody Thomas said the crash was reported around 4:25 p.m. MT. Troopers and Scotts Bluff County deputies responded, along with the Minatare and McGrew Volunteer Fire Departments.

A preliminary investigation shows a Nissan Rogue crossed the center line and struck a semi-truck traveling in the opposite direction. Both occupants of the Nissan were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi was taken to Regional West Medical Center with minor injuries, Thomas said.

NSP is conducting a full crash reconstruction. The investigation remains ongoing. The names of those involved will be released after family notifications are completed.
