Nebraskans find ways to stay active every day. Now, there's a way for Nebraskans to get rewarded for getting outside, and support their local schools in the process.

News Channel Nebraska is partnering with Medica for Stretch Across Nebraska.

Nebraskans can submit photos or videos of themselves doing whatever it is they do best to stay active, and each Friday during the school year, one person will be chosen to receive a $500 donation to the school of their choice.

"We're looking to get Nebraskans out and moving," said Sarah Podany with Medica Market Development. "We want them to be active and healthy, and then obviously to have them make a positive impact in their communities."

Officials with both NCN and Medica say the Stretch Across Nebraska partnership is a way for both companies to stay community-minded, and to give those who are working to better themselves a chance to pay it forward.

"I can't think of a better thing that we could be doing with one of our partners than providing resources right in the communities where they need it," said Flood Communications CEO Andy Ruback.

"We really strive to make a positive impact in the communities in which we serve," Podany added. "This was kind of a natural collaboration. News Channel Nebraska has such a great footprint in the state of Nebraska and Medica is looking to make a positive impact in these communities."

NCN will name one winner each week through the end of May 2024. More info can be found by visiting this link.
