LINCOLN, Neb. — The Johnson-Brock boys basketball team shut down Riverside in the second half to win 54-34 in the state quarterfinals.

The #2 Eagles held the #7 Chargers to just 11 points in the second half to secure the win. Johnson-Brock led 10-5 after a low-scoring first quarter. They withstood a charge from Riverside in the second quarter to have a two-point cushion at halftime. They clamped down on defense to seal the game. Riverside’s 34 points were the Chargers’ second-lowest total of the season.

The Eagles are defending state champions and are in the state semifinals for the fifth time as a consolidated school.
