New details released in officer-involved shooting in Chadron

CHADRON, Neb. — The Nebraska State Patrol has identified the man killed in an officer-involved shooting in Chadron, Nebraska, on Friday. According to the NSP, 40-year-old Adrian Muniz of Greeley, Colorado died after being shot by an officer outside of a business near the intersection of Highways 385 and 20.
Officers were responding to a report of a stolen vehicle out of Colorado when the altercation happened. Authorities reported that Muniz pulled out a weapon, and multiple officers shot at him.
The driver of the stolen vehicle, 34-year-old Rosalinda Aguilera of Greeley, Colorado, was not injured. She was arrested for theft by receiving stolen property and a warrant from Colorado.
Muniz also had an outstanding warrant from Colorado.
Following the shooting, investigators said they found methamphetamine in the vehicle.
The NSP Special Investigations Team is conducting the investigation in accordance with Nebraska Statute, which requires a grand jury investigation for in-custody deaths. The investigation remains ongoing.
