Gunshot victim, sexual assaults, terroristic threats in this month’s Valentine Police report
VALENTINE, Neb. - Valentine Police responded to almost 550 calls in May, including reports of a gunshot victim, sexual assaults, and several vehicle thefts.
Valentine Police said a person suffered a gunshot wound on May 13. Officers were called to the 500 block of N Green St. at 3:45 p.m. All information was forwarded to Rosebud Tribal Police, who didn’t have any other details available.
As News Channel Nebraska reported earlier this month, three men were arrested in a different emergency call involving a gun on May 8. Authorities arrived at the 200 block of S Helen St. at 9:30 a.m. Police said 21-year-old Rudy Blackbull was brandishing what appeared to be a gun in a threatening manner.
The weapon was later found to be an airsoft gun. Blackbull is charged with terroristic threats and criminal trespassing. Two other men are also facing charges in connection with the incident. Police arrested 28-year-old Raven Blackbull for terroristic threats made toward an officer and 38-year-old Robert Packard Jr. for terroristic threats made toward an officer and obstructing a peace officer.
On May 21 a Valentine Police officer responded to a report of terroristic threats in the 800 block of E Highway 20. An 18-year-old Valentine man has been identified as a suspect. Police said all information will be forwarded to the Cherry County Attorney for review.
On May 24 Valentine Police received a call about a sexual assault in the 700 block of C St. That investigation is ongoing, along with a report of a sexual assault on May 8 in the 600 block of W Highway 20.
During the month of May, Valentine officers also arrested several people accused of drug crimes, thefts, and assaults.
