VALENTINE, Neb. - From food to water games and a First Responder Challenge, the Valentine Police Department is hoping to foster relationships through fun events. The department is hosting National Night Out at the Valentine Family Aquatic Center on Tuesday, July 30.

National Night Out is a day for ordinary citizens to interact with their police departments in a casual, fun way. The goal is that by fostering relationships, authorities will be able to better serve their communities.

Tuesday’s events start at 6:00 p.m. with yard games and food, with a free-will offering benefiting the Lion’s Club. At 7:00 p.m., the event will shift to the pool for swimming and water games, alongside the highlight of the evening - the First Responder Challenge.

“The real question is…will this FINALLY be the year the police beat the fireman? Come see the drama play out,” the Valentine Police Department wrote on Facebook.
