Obituary for 13-year-old boy shot & killed in Rapid City
RAPID CITY, S.D. - 13-year-old Xavier White Whirlwind died after Rapid City Police say he was shot on September 2. The shopping happened at a residence on E. Fairlane Dr. between Elm St. and Ivy Ave.

Xavier Jayceon White Whirlwind was born on September 27, 2010 in Rapid City, SD to Dominick Stands, Sr. and Katrina (Shangreaux) White Whirlwind. Xavier made his journey to the Spirit World on September 4, 2024 at the Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Xavier is survived by his mother, Katrina White Whirlwind; father, Dominick Stands, Sr.; brothers, Onyx Stands, Tayton Stands, and Dominick Stands, Jr.; sister, Patricia Shagnreaux II; grandfather, Harry Stands, Sr.; grandmothers, Connie Hopkins and Sonya DuBray; and numerous grandmothers, grandfathers, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Xavier was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Georgia Tail and Barbara Belt; brother, Kylen Shangreaux; great grandmothers, Elizabeth Belt and Helen Stands; great grandfather, Ambrose Belt, Sr. and Homer Stands; and grandfather, Eli Tail, Sr.
Pallbearers will be Tayton Stands, Dominick Stands, Jr., Michael DuBray, Trevon Lone Elk, Tiana Stands, and Kaliyah Sheehan.
