VALENTINE, Neb. - Valentine Police officers were involved in a short vehicle pursuit Wednesday evening. According to the department, an officer initiated a traffic stop around 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of 3rd and Main Streets.

Police say the female driver fled the scene, and officers briefly pursued the vehicle. However, the pursuit was quickly called off due to road conditions and concerns for public safety.

The incident remains under investigation.
