St. Francis man sentenced to over five years in child pornography case
ST. FRANCIS, S.D. - A 24-year-old St. Francis, South Dakota man has been sentenced to more than five years in prison for possessing child pornography. Clyde Chasing Hawk, also known as Clyde Clairmont, was indicted by a federal grand jury in Dec. 2023 and pleaded guilty in Oct. 2024.
The investigation began in June 2023, following CyberTips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The tips indicated that Chasing Hawk was using Google and Yahoo accounts to store child pornography. In Nov. 2023, law enforcement executed a search warrant at his St. Francis home, seizing multiple electronic devices containing illicit content. Court documents revealed that between April and Nov. 2023, Chasing Hawk actively searched for and downloaded child pornography online, saving numerous images and videos to his accounts and devices.
In addition to his prison sentence, Chasing Hawk was ordered to pay $3,000 in restitution.
