“The goal of the community grants is to invest in innovative ideas and programs, while also responding to the unexpected needs and essential operations of our nonprofit community,” said Peters. “More than half of our total grant dollars went into investments that provide long term strength to the nonprofit and the broader community."

The Community Grants program is funded by an endowment at the Hastings Community Foundation.

With the 2025 allocations, the Community Grants program has now awarded more than $1.4 million since its conception in 1994.

“The Community Grants Program really showcases the value and importance of a community foundation,” said Peters. “As an endowed fund, our Community Grants program will continue to operate and grow forever. This comes in addition to other programs we offer, including scholarships, donor advised funds, workshops for nonprofits, and Give Hastings Day. We’re proud that the impact of the Hastings Community Foundation continues to grow.”

In 2024, the Hastings Community Foundation facilitated the distribution of nearly $3.1 million to the nonprofit community through grants, scholarships and other support.
