#1 Morrill beat #2 Kimball to take the NSAA D1-12 sub-district championship and move on to districts Thursday night.

Having defeated Hemingford by more than 30 points Wednesday night, Kimball was a worthy opponent for Morrill who came int the tournament with a 15-10 record, undefeated in the district. The lady longhorns stayed with the lady lions through the first quarter, with the first seven points of the game coming off of foul shots.Both teams struggled with fouls through the first quarter. The second quarter is where the lions cleaned up their game and senior Brooklyn Brown started hitting her signature three point shots to put distance between them and the longhorns.

The second half started with Morrill leading 24-11, but JaLeigh Bohac hit two layups followed by points by Faith Bohac and Addy Olsen to bring the longhorns within five. That is as close as Kimball would get, as fouls plagued their second half. In the fourth, the lady lions pulled away and won the game 50-35.
