Freemantle scores 19 of his 23 in the 2nd half, Xavier beats Creighton 83-61 for fifth straight win
CINCINNATI (AP) — Zach Freemantle scored 19 of his 23 points in the second half to help Xavier beat Creighton 83-61 on Saturday for its fifth straight win.
Freemantle added six rebounds for the Musketeers (19-10, 11-7 Big East Conference). Ryan Conwell scored 20 points and Dante Maddox Jr. had 16.
Creighton (20-9, 13-5), which has two regular-season games remaining and is 3 1/2 games back of No. 7 St. John's, entered tied with Marquette for second place in the conference and has a one-game lead over UConn.
Ryan Kalkbrenner finished with 23 points, 12 rebounds and two blocks for the Bluejays. Creighton also got nine points and five assists from Steven Ashworth. Jamiya Neal finished with eight points and six rebounds.
Xavier took the lead with 12:51 left in the first half and did not give it up. Conwell led the Musketeers with 10 points in the first half to help put them up 42-27 at the break. Xavier pulled away with a 14-0 run in the second half to extend an eight-point lead to 22 points.

Osburn scores 22 in Omaha's 80-57 win against Oral Roberts and Mavericks win outright Summit title
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Tony Osburn's 22 points helped Omaha defeat Oral Roberts 80-57 on Saturday as the Mavericks claimed the outright Summit League title.
Omaha will be the top seed for the conference tournament while Oral Roberts will be the ninth.
Osburn also contributed six rebounds for the Mavericks (19-12, 13-3). Marquel Sutton added 20 points while going 7 of 16 from the floor and 6 for 7 from the line while they also had nine rebounds and three steals. JJ White went 7 of 12 from the field (4 for 7 from 3-point range) to finish with 18 points, while adding six assists.
The Golden Eagles (7-22, 3-13) were led in scoring by Jalen Miller, who finished with 13 points and four assists. Oral Roberts also got 11 points from Darius Robinson Jr.. JoJo Moore also put up seven points.
Clifford has 26, Colorado State beats Utah State 93-66
FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) — Nique Clifford scored 26 points as Colorado State beat Utah State 93-66 on Saturday in a battle of second-place teams in the Mountain West Conference..
Clifford also contributed six rebounds and nine assists for the Rams (20-9, 14-4 Mountain West Conference). Jaylen Crocker-Johnson scored 18 points while shooting 7 for 9, including 3 for 3 from beyond the arc and added five rebounds. Bowen Born had 18 points and shot 5 of 7 from the field, including 3 for 5 from 3-point range, and went 5 for 5 from the line.
Ian Martinez led the way for the Aggies (24-6, 14-5) with 17 points and three steals. Deyton Albury added 12 points for Utah State. Jordy Barnes finished with 11 points.

San Diego State wins 72-69 over Wyoming
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — BJ Davis scored 18 points as San Diego State beat Wyoming 72-69 on Saturday night.
Davis added three steals for the Aztecs (20-7, 13-5 Mountain West Conference). Miles Byrd scored 18 points, going 7 of 14 from the floor, including 1 for 5 from 3-point range, and 3 for 4 from the line. Jared Coleman-Jones shot 5 of 11 from the field, including 1 for 3 from 3-point range, and went 1 for 4 from the line to finish with 12 points.
Obi Agbim led the Cowboys (12-18, 5-14) in scoring, finishing with 21 points and six rebounds. Dontaie Allen added 16 points for Wyoming. Matija Belic had 12 points and six rebounds.
Byrd scored nine points in the first half and San Diego State went into halftime trailing 34-33. San Diego State used an 8-0 second-half run to come back from a three-point deficit and take the lead at 56-51 with 9:54 left in the half before finishing off the victory. Davis scored 11 second-half points.

Akins scores 17, Denver takes down South Dakota State 78-62 in Summit League finale
DENVER (AP) — Sebastian Akins scored 17 points as Denver upset South Dakota State 78-62 on Saturday in a Summit League finale..
Akins shot 6 of 13 from the field and 5 for 5 from the line for the Pioneers (11-20, 5-11 Summit League). DeAndre Craig scored 16 points while going 6 of 8 and 4 of 4 from the free-throw line. Isaiah Addo-Ankrah went 4 of 8 from the field (4 for 7 from 3-point range) to finish with 12 points.
The Jackrabbits (20-11, 11-5), who entered the game tied for second, were led by Kalen Garry, who recorded 18 points. Oscar Cluff added 13 points for South Dakota State.
The league tournament starts Wednesday in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
