Pine Ridge man sentenced for sexually abusing teen

PINE RIDGE, S.D. - A 31-year-old Pine Ridge man has been sentenced to more than 21 years in federal prison for sexually abusing a 17-year-old girl. Kaleb Mills, also known as Kayleb Mills, was convicted after prosecutors proved he lured the teenager to his home through Facebook. He messaged the victim, asking if she wanted to hang out.
After she agreed, Mills arranged for someone to drive her to his house in Pine Ridge. Once she arrived, Mills injected her with methamphetamine. While she was under the influence and unable to consent, he engaged in sexual activity with her.
Mills had a prior conviction for a similar offense in 2013. The case was prosecuted as part of *Project Safe Childhood*, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
