LINCOLN, Neb. – For the second straight year, the Millard West Wildcats are the queens of Girls Class A Basketball. 

In the third championship game of the day, #1 Millard West (28-1) led from start to finish, and defeated #7 Omaha Westside (21-7) 70-44. 

The Wildcats jumped out in front early behind 11 1st quarter points from Neleigh Gessert, who scored 18 points in the game for Millard West. 

The Westside offense struggled in the first 16 minutes, only mustering 14 points at the halftime break. 

Millard West shot 44% from the floor and had three players in double figures to keep the pressure on and roll to victory. 

The Wildcats were led by a double-double from Kylee Paben (19pts, 13reb) and Neleigh Gessert's 18 points and Jade Lewis's 15 points. 

Omaha Westside got an 18-point performance from their Freshman sensation Himayajo Metoyer, and shot just 30% from the floor.
