GORDON, Neb. - A 60-year-old Gordon man who possessed and distributed child pornography has been sentenced to a minimum of 25 years in prison with a maximum of 30 years. Robert Amiotte-Hedley reached a plea agreement, pleading no contest to one count of distributing child porn and one count of possessing child porn. In return, six other charges were dropped.
According to an arrest affidavit, Amiotte-Hedley admitted to a Gordon police officer to having a couple hundred pictures on his phone of children performing sexual acts. The children ranged in age from infants to teens.
The State of Nebraska later filed paperwork to add additional counts, including six counts of distributing a visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct of a child, one count of possessing a visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct of a child, and one count of possessing a visual depiction of sexually explicit conduct of a child with intent to distribute.
“Through ongoing and continuing investigation, law enforcement has uncovered multiple incidents of the trading, delivery or distribution of visual depictions of sexually explicit conduct involving a child and incidents where the defendant possessed visual depictions of sexual explicit conduct with the intent to trade, deliver or distribute such visual depictions,” the court paperwork reads.
In addition to jail time, Amiotte-Hedley is also required to register as a sex offender.
