Sidney competes at Ed Moore Invite in Ogallala Monday

OGALLALA – The Sidney High School boys placed third with 100.5 points and the girls earned fourth with 70 points at the Ed Moore Track and Field Invite in Ogallala on Monday. The meet was originally schedule for last week, but weather concerns moved the meet to April 7.
Lance Holly led the charge for the Red Raiders, winning the 100 meters (11.12), placing second in the 200 and anchoring the winning 4x100 relay (42.74). He also captured gold in the 400 meters (51.17).
On the girls side, Kylee Kampfe won the triple jump (34’ 0”) and took sixth in the long jump, while Rylan Misegadis finished second in triple jump and tied for second in high jump.
Katie Dowse helped fuel the girls’ fourth-place finish with a third-place time in the 400 (1:02.55) and led the winning 4x800 relay team with Madelyn Kennedy, Jordynn Schnell and Taylor Sprenger (10:17.48). Sidney’s girls 4x400 relay also placed third.
Thrower Reagan Nesbitt was dominant in the discus, taking gold with a throw of 121’ 4” and placing eighth in shot put. Ashlynn Weinbender placed third in the 100m hurdles and sixth in the 300m hurdles, while Sophie Watson tied for first in the high jump (5’2”).
Sidney’s boys also picked up wins in hurdles from Patrick McCartney and Kyle Jaggers, and a second-place finish in the 4x400 relay.
Chase County swept the team titles, scoring 138 in boys and 155 in girls competition.
