HASTINGS, Neb. – The Hastings College Baseball team is making a midseason coaching change by firing its first-year head coach.

Effective immediately, Steve Maddock has been relieved of head coaching duties for the Broncos.

He was hired on Aug. 20, 2024 and sees his time come to an end in Hastings just over seven months later.

Maddock's Broncos had a 7-23 overall record and a 4-12 conference record at the time of his dismissal on Friday.

Hastings College hasn't won back-to-back games this season, and has been outscored 134-258 in its 30 games.

The program begins its search for a new head coach with 12 games left in the regular season.
