SIDNEY — Jordan DeNovellis, a senior at Sidney High School, has been named the recipient of two scholarships recognizing academic achievement and leadership.

The Cheyenne County Lawyers’ Association announced DeNovellis as the winner of its $1,500 scholarship, awarded to a deserving senior in the Cheyenne County area. To receive the funds, recipients must enroll in an accredited college, university or community college by Aug. 31, 2025. Carli Black, also a senior at Sidney High School, was named runner-up and will receive the scholarship if the original requirements are not met.

In addition to the Cheyenne County award, DeNovellis received the Jim Langdon Leadership Scholarship, established by the Sidney High School Class of 1964. The scholarship honors the memory of Jim Langdon, who passed away in a car accident a year after graduating. It is presented to a student who exemplifies leadership and community values.
