KEARNEY, Neb. – The Kearney Bearcats used excellent starting pitcher and a quick start on offense to record their fourth straight win over their Tri-City rival on Friday.

Kearney starter Bryce Andersen set the tone in the first inning with three strikeouts, and the Bearcat offense notched two runs in the bottom of the frame.

Kearney scored four more runs in the second inning on two doubles to take a 6-0 lead, and never looked back on offense.

Hastings managed to get 11 runners on base throughout the game, but couldn't push anyone across.

Andersen, the Iowa Western CC commit, shut down the Hastings offense by going six scoreless innings, only allowing two hits, three walks, and punching out seven batters.

He also went 3-3 at the plate with two doubles and three RBIs.

The Bearcats improved to 18-9 on senior day, while Hastings dropped to 10-11.
