SIDNEY, Neb. — Sidney High School swept both the boys and girls team titles at the 2025 Western Conference Track and Field Invite at Weymouth Field in Sidney on Friday.

The Sidney boys scored 154.5 points to secure the championship, outpacing Scottsbluff (124) and Gering (103). Alliance finished fourth with 94.5, followed by Mitchell (37) and Chadron (10).

Lance Holly was the meet's standout, setting a new Western Conference record in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.83 seconds, surpassing the previous mark held by former Red Raider Cade Lewis. Holly added wins in the 200 (22.61), 400 (49.29 PR), and anchored Sidney’s first-place 4x100 relay team with Landon Riddle, Rhys Dorcey and Owen Gillham. The Red Raiders also won the throwers' 4x100 relay.

Sidney's field event athletes added key points with Alek Doty, Kaleb Cerenil, and Keian Kaiser finishing 2-3-4 in the discus. Kash Knobbe won the high jump (6'1"), and Kanon Palmer placed third in the pole vault (12’0”).

The Sidney girls took the title with 134 points, holding off Gering (107) and Chadron (103). Scottsbluff was fourth with 100, followed by Mitchell (41) and Alliance (33).

Katie Dowse led the Red Raider girls with wins in the 400 (1:01.70 PR) and 800 (2:31.53), while Laramey Misegadis took second in the 200 and fifth in the 100. Melody Sanchez finished third in the long jump (16’5”).

Sidney’s hurdlers contributed big points with Ashlynn Weinbender (3rd), Kyndi Martinez (4th), and Ava Witte (6th) in the 100 hurdles. The girls relay teams also earned top-three finishes in the 4x400 and 4x800.

In the throws, Reagan Nesbitt dominated with a win in discus (115’10”) and second in shot put (37’5”). Lia Capriotti took second in the pole vault, and Sidney earned four of the top six spots in that event.
