BAYARD – Host Bayard swept the team titles at the 2025 Minuteman Activities Conference Track and Field Meet on Saturday.

The Bayard boys scored 151 points to win the meet, ahead of South Platte, which finished second with 98 points. Potter-Dix and Creek Valley tied for third with 65 points apiece, followed by Garden County (64), Leyton (50), Minatare (10) and Banner County (6).

In the girls team standings, Bayard finished with 123 points, holding off Garden County’s 105 and Leyton’s 93. South Platte took fourth with 62, followed by Minatare (55), Potter-Dix (23), Banner County (16) and Creek Valley (1).

South Platte’s Nathan Jacobs delivered one of the most dominant individual performances of the day, winning the 100 meters in 11.45 seconds, 200 meters in 23.20 and 400 meters in 52.31 – all personal bests. He also launched the discus 154 feet, 5 inches to win the event and complete a four-gold-medal day.

Leyton senior Shawnee Gamble won the 100 in 12.86 and 200 in 26.87, and helped her team win the 4x100-meter relay in 53.06 seconds. Teammate Zaili Benish added victories in both the 100-meter hurdles (17.02) and 300-meter hurdles (49.35).

Bayard senior Logan Metz claimed the boys long jump (20-2.5) and triple jump (39-6), and helped pace a field-heavy effort from the Tigers that included wins in both the 4x400 and 4x800-meter relays. Luke Fletcher of Creek Valley cleared 6-0 to win the high jump, while Bayard’s Jacob Carrizales won the pole vault at 11 feet even.

On the girls side, Bayard’s Riley Hopkins swept the shot put and discus with marks of 32-11 and 95-6, respectively. Garden County’s Emilee Houchin won the girls 800 in 2:35.33 and the 1,600 in 6:36.81, while teammate Abigail Loyd captured the 3,200 meters in 14:51.27.

Bayard’s girls also won the 4x400 relay in 4:43.51, while Garden County took the 4x800 in 12:52.39.
