NORFOLK, Neb. – Norfolk Catholic Junior Leighton Burbach will be playing college football in the Big Ten Conference after announcing his commitment on Sunday.

According to Burbach's X account, the 6'8, 270 pound lineman chose Northwestern University over several other schools. 

He received offers from Iowa State, Vanderbilt, Kansas State, Texas Tech, North Dakota State, UCF, Washington State, South Dakota, and Montana. 

Burbach is ranked as a three-star offensive tackle according to On3sports and 247sports.

Burbach has been part of the Norfolk Catholic Football team that has won a the Class C2 State Championship in each of the past three years.
