Sidney FFA Chapter recognizes achievements, new cabinet
SIDNEY -- The Sidney High School FFA Chapter held its Achievement Banquet Friday, May 16.
The Achievement Banquet highlights achievements of the year, and announces the next year's officers.
Sidney FFA Chapter President Peyton Sprenger opened the meeting with a roll call of officers.
"We are now holding a special meeting of the Sidney FFA Chapter. Madame Vice-President. Are all officers at their stations?," she asked Vice-President Josette McConnell.
Vice-President McConnell then asked for a roll call of each cabinet position.
A prayer was offered and the meal was served.
Following the meal, valued guests were recognized, awards were presented and Chapter President Peyton Sprenger gave her retirement address.
After the meeting, Sprenger admitted the year had its challenges and its high points.
"It kind of has been challenging. We had a little upset with losing an advisor, so we didn't know if we were going to get one in the beginning of summer," she said.
She said their advisor, Chissy Befus, was announced shortly before school started.
"Three days before school started we found out we were going to have an advisor, so that helped out a lot," Sprenger said.
She said while there were challenges, personal successes of club members were worth the effort.
"The has been challenges, but its also been rewarding to see everyone compete in contests and be successful," she said.
