RUSHVILLE, Neb. - Two men are facing charges after a bar fight at the Rushville American Legion that allegedly involved a pool stick used as a weapon.

Steven Shangreau Jr., 50, of Rushville, has been charged with second-degree assault, criminal mischief, and disturbing the peace. Jacob Brossard, 30, of Gordon, is facing a charge of attempt of a Class 2A felony.

According to an arrest affidavit, law enforcement responded to the bar shortly before midnight on March 15. Surveillance footage reportedly shows Shangreau and a woman fighting with another man. Shangreau is then seen grabbing a pool stick and jabbing it into the man’s neck before continuing the assault.

The victim suffered a visible contusion on the left side of his throat and was taken to the hospital for his injuries, authorities said.

Shangreau has pleaded not guilty. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 8. Brossard is set to be arraigned on June 10.
