VALENTINE, Neb. - Many auctions in the Valentine area will soon be held at different locations. Connot Brothers Auction is selling its building at 329 E 1st St to a growing construction business in Valentine.

Connot Brothers Auction has hosted dozens of sales at the site over the past few years. But owner Dennis Connot says the company is shifting focus, moving future auctions out into the community—directly to ranches, homes, and estates.

“Our heart is still very attached to auctions,” said Connot. “The love of auctions will continue. Valentine has treated us well.”

The business plans to host one final auction at the building on June 14 before officially handing over the keys to B Squared Fine Homes, a locally owned construction company that specializes in custom homes and remodels.

Kerry Bukaske, who co-owns B Squared with his sons, said the new space will allow the business to expand its capabilities. The building will serve as a client meeting space for design and budgeting, provide room to store equipment, and even allow for indoor project builds when needed.

The family-owned business recently added another layer to its services with the help of Kerry’s son, Trey, a recent graduate of Wayne State College with a degree in design and drafting.

“We can now take projects from design to final finish, which is very exciting,” said Kerry.

Kerry’s other son, Trevor, is also part of the team, which has been building and remodeling homes across the Valentine area for the past five years.
