Tom Dinsdale sells Grand Island and Hastings dealerships

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. - One of the biggest names in car sales in Central Nebraska is officially changing hands.
Tom Dinsdale has sold its three dealerships to a pair of different companies. Rydell Auto Group has acquired both Tom Dinsdale Chevrolet GMC Cadillac and Tom Dinsdale Hyundai in Grand Island. The dealerships will now operate under the name Grand Island Motor Company.
Hastings Auto Group purchased Tom Dinsdale Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram. Hastings Auto already owns Hastings Ford, Quick Lane Tire and Auto Center, and HFX Honda Powersports.
"Because of the incredible customer and community support over the past 12 years, we have been able to expand our business and purchase the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram dealership in Hastings," owner Scott Sterling said. "Acquiring another local dealership is very exciting, and we are looking forward to expanding on the projects and community outreach efforts we are currently involved in."
The new Grand Island business is billing itself as a new company with a new philosophy. The new ownership group it plans to keep the people previously employed by Tom Dinsdale, while also restructuring the management of the car lots.

Rydell Dealership Group is based out of Waterloo, Iowa, and has more than 80 stores across the U.S.
