Legion Baseball Elmwood Murdock Post 247 Seniors hosts the Tecumseh Legion Post 2/330 Seniors (Pirates vs Thunderbirds)

Tecumseh was coming off a conference championship win with their record at 9-1.  Elmwood Murdock (E-M) came into the game with some confidence after getting their last win at the conference tournament breaking a 7-game losing streak.  With confidence behind them E-M was looking for the big win with a record at 2-11.  You could catch the game on B103 with Trevor Krenk on the call and in case you missed it here’s a rundown of the game.

1st Inning: Tecumseh at the plate went three up and three down as all three hit it out to E-M right fielder who sealed the deal in the glove each time.   Elmwood Murdock answers at the plate with their first at bat getting a double.  Eventually being brought home by a sacrifice bunt and sacrifice pop fly to put a run on the board. EM 1 – Tecumseh 0

2nd Inning: Tecumseh was able to rattle the bats but were left with two runners on base, no runs scored.  E-M responds with a few hits of their own but left with a runner on to end the inning.  EM 1 – Tecumseh 0

3rd Inning: Starting it off with two batters and two outs the Tecumseh Thunderbirds would get a chance to get on the board as they get a runner on by a walk. They would rally to end the inning bringing home three runs. Elmwood Murdock grabs the bat and was able to get players in position on first and second before Tecumseh did a pitching change. Getting the next batter out they then chose to walk a batter making the bases loaded but it would stay that way to end the inning.   EM 1 – Tecumseh 3

4th Inning: A strikeout followed patience at the plate by Tecumseh put runners on the bases with a walk, a hit by pitch, and another walk loading the bases.  The second out then put the pressure on Tecumseh whose hitter answered with a double receiving 3 RBIs on the hit.  The bottom of the 4th continued with E-M having three players get walked and eventually being able to get a runner in leaving runners on third and first base. EM 2 – Tecumseh 6

5th Inning: Ground out to begin the inning with the next three batters being walked. Back at the top of the batting order with bases loaded the next two batters were also walked which gave Tecumseh two more runs on the board.  They would continue the inning with a sacrifice fly to score their third run of the inning and leave three runners on base having bat the entire order. Elmwood Murdock would have three up and three down to take us out of the inning.  EM 2 - Tecumseh 9

6th Inning: Just when you didn’t think it could get any more exciting Tecumseh starts it off rounding the bases putting a player in scoring position on an E-M throwing error.  With runners on second and third after a stolen base a sacrifice bunt moved one across the plate to score.  At the top of the batting order with two outs and a runner on third another error on E-M allowed for another run to be scored as the hitter takes first base on the error as well.  They would continue to rattle the bats, bringing in a total of seven runs on the inning. Elmwood-Murdock would have one more chance to answer in the bottom of the 6th, but it looked a lot like the previous inning with three up and three down.

Tecumseh Post 2/330 runs away with the win over Elmwood Murdock Post 247 final score of 16-2.
