Barrett Wilke throws the shot put at state track
STANTON, Neb.-- One of Nebraska’s most dominant high school throwers is headed to compete for the Huskers
Barrett Wilke of Stanton announced he is joining the University of Nebraska track and field program this fall.
Wilke stands out as one of Nebraska’s top throwers in the state. He broke the state shot-put record, won both shot and discus, and earned All-Class honors. He’s proven consistent improvement across season meets, and his range as both a sprinter and thrower reflects an impressive athletic versatility.
He also earned all state honors in football and led Stanton to a State Championship in 2023.
The thrower was originally committed to Morningside for football before committing to Nebraska.
