LINCOLN, Neb.— A longtime state employee will be filling the top position with the Nebraska Public Service Commission.

Greg Walklin is set to replace Thomas Golden as the PSC's executive director on August 1.

Walklin, an attorney, has 16 years of service with the State of Nebraska. Prior to taking the role of PSC general counsel in October 2023, he was the Director of Procurement and Grants for the Department of Health and Human Services.

“We are excited to be able to promote from within the agency and are pleased that Greg has accepted the opportunity to lead the Commission," Commission Chair Tim Schram said.

The commissioners voted unanimously at their Tuesday meeting to promote Walklin. He will receive an annual salary of $165,000.
