Hastings College hires Jagels as Head Dance and Cheer Coach

HASTINGS, Neb. – A familiar face in the Hastings dance and cheer community is taking over the Hastings College Dance and Cheer program.
Hastings College announced Tuesday the hiring of Madison Jagels as the school's Head Dance and Cheer Coach.
"We are excited to welcome Madison back to Hastings College," Hastings College Athletic Direct Chris Clements said. "I believe that her years of high school coaching will play a key role in the transition to college athletics. We are looking forward to her joining our athletic department and watching her build the two programs."
Jagels comes to Hastings College after spending three years as the head cheer coach at Hastings High School.
She graduated Hastings College in 2022 and was part of a Bronco Cheer team that placed second at the NAIA Regional Championships in 2020. In 2020 and 2021, the Broncos were second in the GPAC and later took third in 2022.
She takes over two Hastings programs that each finished seventh at the GPAC Championships this past season.
"I'm most excited to build a strong foundation for both the cheer and dance teams. This season will be about developing consistency, raising the bar, and creating a culture of accountability and pride," Jagels said, crediting her love for the Broncos Cheer and Dance programs to her late coach, Mikaelah Molifua.
Most recently, Jagels has worked at the Mary Lanning Healthcare Foundation and Hastings Economic Development Corporation in business development and marketing roles.
"Athletes and fans can expect a coach who's organized, passionate, and fully invested. I set high standards, but I also support my athletes every step of the way," Jagels said.
