Minor injuries reported

MORRILL COUNTY -- At about 8:56 a.m. today the Morrill County Sheriff’s Office responded to a collision involving a southbound semi-truck with trailer and a southbound SUV on Highway 385 near mile marker 81.

The truck was attempting to turn onto Road 108 when the SUV failed to yield, colliding with the rear of the semi.

The driver and passenger of the SUV sustained minor injuries and were transported to Morrill County Community Hospital by Morrill County ALS for treatment. The deployment of multiple airbags in the SUV and the proper use of seat belts are credited with minimizing injuries.

The driver of the semi was uninjured.

The incident caused a temporary closure of both northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 385 for approximately 30 minutes. The Morrill County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Nebraska State Patrol, worked diligently to manage traffic and conduct a crash investigation, restoring full traffic flow as quickly as possible.

The Morrill County Sheriff’s Office extends its gratitude to the Nebraska State Patrol, Morrill County ALS, and Bayard Auto and Towing for their prompt and efficient support in responding to this incident.
