STERLING, Colo. --  At about 11:51 p.m. Thursday, Sterling police initiated a traffic stop in the 600 block of Cheyenne Boulevard resulting in three arrests.

The contact was the result of observing a black Chevrolet Cavalier traveling without a rear license plate in the area of South 6th Avenue and Cheyenne Boulevard.

The vehicle was occupied by three individuals: driver Justina Lambert, 29 of Sterling and passengers Chase Williams, 33 of Sterling and Kalani Berrios, 31 of Sidney, NE. During the stop, officers observed items consistent with fentanyl use.

During the search of the vehicle, officers located about 430 blue pills marked “M30,” consistent with fentanyl. Additional drug paraphernalia, including burnt foil, empty baggies, and a glass methamphetamine pipe were also collected.

As a result of the investigation, to include the suspected fentanyl testing presumptive positive, all three individuals were arrested and transported to the Logan County Detention Center.

Justina Lambert; Chase Williams; and Kalani Berrios were arrested on the following charges:

· CRS 18-18-403.5 – Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Drug Felony 4)

· CRS 18-18-405 – Possession with Intent to Distribute a Controlled Substance (Drug Felony 2)

· Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Drug Petty Offense)
