CHEYENNE COUNTY, Neb. – A vehicle struck a deer on eastbound Interstate 80 near mile marker 38 in Cheyenne County, disabling the vehicle in the middle of the roadway in the early morning hours of Tuesday.

According to initial reports, the collision involved a silver Subaru and resulted in airbag deployment at approximately 2:31 a.m. The vehicle and totaled and the deer was killed in the accident. The driver was the only person in the vehicle and was not injured.

The crash left the vehicle disabled in the roadway, and motorists in the area were advised to use caution until it was cleared.
