It's not a marathon...or a sprint. It is simply a walk to raise awareness about a disease that affects many.

The Walk to End Alzheimer's will be making seven stops across Nebraska in September and October.

These walks will help raise funding and build a community for the disease.

Walk manager for Lincoln and Norfolk, Raegan Voboril says that the walks are a great time to meet people going through the same experience.

"The walk is more of a festival feel. We will plan on having dance team, cheer teams, and students really making it a fun time," Voboril said. "So not only are you going there to honor a loved one but your also there to celebrate the fund-raising that all the teams do throughout the year."

Before the walks there will be a ceremony to honor the participants.

Everyone will hold up a flower of a certain color which represents the impact Alzheimer's has on their life.

Voboril said the goal of these walks is to live in a world without Alzheimer's.

You can register for free online or on-site at the walk.
