GENEVA, Neb.—  The Clerk Magistrate position is being filled by someone who knows the court system well.

Hilary Roit will be filling the Fillmore County Court Clerk Magistrate in Geneva starting November 1.

Roit previously worked as the Assistant Clerk of the District Court/Clerk's Office in Fillmore County.

“Hilary’s familiarity with the inner workings of the judicial system, attention to detail, and ability to manage administrative responsibilities will ensure a smooth transition and enable her to lead the County Court office with confidence and efficiency,” Trial Court Services Director Sara Fowler said in a news release.

Roit will work in the 10th district, working under the general direction of the presiding county judge.

Former Clerk Magistrate Cindy Carrigan has held the position for 40 years, retiring on October 31.
