Next court appearance set for September 8

SIDNEY -- Beau Wright, 33, of Sidney, is being held in Cheyenne County Jail on $20,000 bond.

He was self-represented in Cheyenne County Court September 3 before the Honorable Judge Randin R. Roland. 

He is being held on the charge of Terroristic Threats, a felony, following the discharge of a BB gun on September 2.

At about 6:16 p.m. Sept. 2, officers were dispatched to Country Club Drive on a report of shots fired. The call came after the Cheyenne County Emergency Communications Center received a report of a man shooting at a woman who had run from a residence. Responding officers located a woman and two juveniles outside the home and secured them safely away from the house.

Police said the suspect, Beau P. Wright, was found inside the residence and taken into custody without incident. Investigators determined the weapon involved was a BB gun, which was recovered at the scene. 

No physical injuries were reported. Wright was booked into the Cheyenne County Jail on a charge of felony Terroristic Threats.

On September 3, he was advised of the nature of the charges, possible penalties, effect of conviction, and each of the following rights: Privilege Against Self-incrimination; Right to Confront Accusers; Right to Preliminary Hearing; Right to Counsel; Right to Appeal Conviction.

The status of his Preliminary Hearing is scheduled for 8:15 a.m. Monday, September 8, in Cheyenne County Court.
